AI 4 Humanities: ruGPT-3

This time, not only adult DS specialists are invited to participate in the contest — the best solutions offered by students under 18 will be awarded in the AIJ Junior special nomination.

Task description

AI 4 Humanities: ruGPT-3 is a track developed specially for those familiar with artificial neural networks. It will help to learn about a promising ruGPT-3 technology able to generate very complex meaningful texts based on just one request made in natural human language. For example, it can help you answer most questions included in basic or unified national exams (OGE or EGE), write Java code at the request «Please make a website for online shop», come up with a business idea for a new startup, or write new popular science articles.

This track will be conducted as a contest of solution prototypes:

As part of the overall ranking, the participants are invited to present their prototypes for solving any business or social task on the basis of the pre-taught ruGPT-3 model.

Participants of the special nomination AIJ Junior are invited to propose a ruGPT-3 solution to generate a meaningful essay on the specific topic/text in one of the four humanitarian subjects (the Russian language, history, literature, social science) at the 11th form level (EGE).

Solution format and metrics

A solution for overall ranking shall include all of the following:

  • A solution prototype placed on Google Colab (available for free for everyone)
  • An archive with the code
  • Power Point presentation with prototype description according to three criteria (listed below) and a summary of implementation.
The overall ranking will be organized in two stages:

1) selection — to select top-5 participants

2) Final — to select a winner among those presenting their solutions

When reviewing the proposed solutions, the focus will be made on the compliance with criteria allowing to have the best prototype for solving a specific task or case.

The contest jury will assess participants according to the following criteria:
Business application
Emotional involvement and social value
Innovations

The final score will be calculated as the average score of the three criteria. Participants earning the highest total score will be declared top-5 overall ranking finalists.

The contest jury will select an overall ranking winner upon the results of the more detailed online project defense on November 18 with the same criteria as above.

A solution for AIJ Junior special nomination shall include all of the following:

  • A solution prototype placed on Google Colab (available for free for everyone)
  • An archive with the code
  • An archive with essays on topics given by the organizers

Participants of the AIJ Junior special nomination will be assessed by the contest jury by criteria used to assess writing parts of EGE exams in humanitarian subjects (the Russian language, history, literature, social science):

Individual contestants or teams earning the highest total score will be declared track winners.
